Patient Scheduled Managed Services

The Patient Scheduled Management Service offered by Kimal provides all the requirements of an individual patient’s dialysis session, boxed and delivered to patients’ homes or hospital renal units.

The problem
Renal units currently purchase their range of consumable products from a number of different suppliers. These products include dialyser fluid, catheters, needles, blood lines e.t.c, used in the HD dialysis process.

In one hospital around 600 dialysis sessions a week are carried out. Maintaining sufficient supplies to meet patient needs involves a large stockholding and bulk replenishment from each of their main suppliers several times a week. Consequently the unit can be over burdened with stock resulting in inappropriate storage.

In addition to this staff on the ward have to collect all the necessary consumables required to dialyse the patients. This is a lengthy and time consuming process which creates a large amount of waste in terms of time and product. Staff also have to break up and dispose of all the waste packaging materials. And then there is the administration of placing orders, checking deliveries and agreeing invoices.

Renal care boxes delivered to patient or hospitalThe solution
Kimal purchase, store and pack all the necessary consumables, including prescription items if required, for a specific patient. . Individual boxes are then delivered to patients’ homes on a weekly or monthly basis or into renal units on a daily basis. Delivery boxes are also collected and disposed of. A dedicated customer care team ensures patients have adequate stock and manage the delivery process.
