Spotted….Kimal Perform Procedure Packs

One of Kimal’s Swiss distributors watched a German television channel and saw a Kimal procedure pack being used for an interventional angiogram procedure in an Irish hospital.
The television show was reporting on a patient who when he found out he had to undergo a heart operation whilst being awake, made the decision to photograph the procedure.

A coronary angiogram involves guiding a catheter into a coronary artery and inserting dye through the small tube to search for blocked or narrow vessels. The Perform procedure pack used was a bespoke cardiac pack, specifically tailored to the needs of that hospital and procedure. The cardiac pack contained standard pack components such as needles, drapes, swabs, and syringes but also included - Sollutions: Needle Containment Device, guidewire, introducers and a protection station from the fluid management range.

Perform procedure pack being used during surgery

Charles McQuillan, diagnosed with coronary artery disease in 2009, realised his heart op procedure would make an amazing series of images along with being able to experience the difficult surgery from all angles through the lens of various cameras.

Charles won the award, BT Northern Ireland Press Photographer of the Year, for the series of heart operation shots.
